Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 July 2026
This policy explains how Botthy handles your personal data when you visit botthy.be or contact us. We keep it simple, because our website does too: it is an informational site and collects as little data as possible.
1. Who we are
Botthy operates two boutiques in Geraardsbergen (Belgium): Botthy Women, Grotestraat 47, and Botthy Men, Grotestraat 79, 9500 Geraardsbergen.
- Registered name: BOTTHY
- Company / VAT number: BE 0848.845.218
- Registered address: Grotestraat 79, 9500 Geraardsbergen
- Privacy contact: privacy@botthy.be
2. What data we collect
- When you browse the site: with your consent, we use Google Analytics (loaded via Google Tag Manager) to measure how the site is used (see section 3). Without consent, no analytics or marketing cookies are set. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (e.g. IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting.
- When you contact us: if you call, email or visit us, we process the information you choose to share, to answer your question.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we process your email address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
3. Cookies & third-party services
We use Google Tag Manager to load measurement and functional scripts. Depending on the tags configured, this includes Google Analytics, which places cookies on your device to measure how the site is used (pages visited, device type, approximate location). We use this only to understand and improve our website and service.
- Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics: analytics cookies to measure and improve the site.
- Google Fonts: loads the typefaces; your IP address is processed by Google to deliver the fonts.
- Google Maps / Places: when you click "Directions" you are taken to Google Maps, and the "open now" indicator queries Google's Places service. Google's own privacy policy then applies.
Strictly necessary cookies are always allowed. Non-essential cookies (analytics and any marketing tags) are only placed with your consent, which you give via our cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Legitimate interest: running a secure, functional website.
- Consent: for analytics/marketing cookies and for the newsletter.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We only rely on processors needed to run the site: our hosting provider (Combell), Google (fonts and maps) and, once active, our newsletter provider. Each processes data on our behalf and under their own security measures.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data no longer than necessary: newsletter data until you unsubscribe, contact correspondence for as long as needed to help you, and server logs for a limited period set by our host.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@botthy.be.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
8. Changes
We may update this policy when our website or services change. The date at the top always reflects the latest version.
